The Wonder Bun slept under

09.34 The Wonder Bun slept under our bed last night. Toyah tells me there was also a lot of hurtling & running from a creature smaller than Beaton. I have not reported the ongoing drama of Mouse (more accurately Mouse & Relatives) with accounts of marriage, procreation & decease. But the lineage is well established and shows no likelihood of being extinguished by mere Raging Heartlessness.

11.45

The Big Two came away from their morning meeting with the sense that next year will be a turning point for DGM. DGM artists will be on the road & blowing trumpets: King Crimson, John Paul Jones, The California Guitar Trio, Bill Bruford's Earthworks & Jacob Herringman - at the least.

My conversations with the Crims last night, & now with Richard Chadwick, have lead me to propose a bold new initiative. This doesn't concern playing as such, but addresses our ongoing practical difficulties of being well dispersed over two continents. Richard laughed. "Why are you laughing?". "I'm just laughing".

19.32 Just spoken to Adrian & Trey about the wild idea. Trey tells me there is a piece in yesterday's New York Times on the growing movement towards independent record companies, particularly by major artists. DGM features in the article, apparently.
